Farmer commits suicide after bank seizes tractor

According to reports, a farmer in Tamil Nadu committed suicide by consuming poison after bank officials seized his tractor as he was not able to repay the loan he bought for farming activities. The farmer named Velliangiri Nathan from Palladam area of Tirupur district had reportedly bought the tractor by getting a loan from a private bank to pay in instalments. The Madras High Court reportedly ordered to confiscate the tractor after the bank filed a complaint. He consumed poison and fell before the Palladam police station. He was admitted to private hospital where he died. A farmer association has announced protest over his death, say reports.
