Raj Bhavan sources in Chennai have reportedly said that the newly appointed Tamil Nadu Governor Banwari Lal Purohit will take charge on October 6. Purohit has been appointed as the Governor for the State after a year since former Governor K Rosaiah left office in August 2016. The appointment comes amidst opposition’s criticism that Ch Vidyasagar Rao acted an agent of BJP.
