Alliance Air, a subsidiary of Air India to launch flight services from Chennai to Trichy and vice versa. Reportedly Chennai is the only airport that will have direct flights to Trichy. Daily operations of flight would begin from August 30. This flight would provide the connectivity service to the passengers who travel from other parts of the country to visit Trichy and neighboring cities. Earlier this month Indigo airlines allegedly met the airport officials and expressed their interest in providing connectivity from Chennai to Trichy.
