SC to hear ban on cattle slaughter plea on June 15

According to reports, the Supreme Court on Wednesday listed a plea challenging the Centre's notification banning sale and purchase of cattle at animal markets for slaughter for hearing on June 15. The petition challenged the notification on the grounds that its provisions were unconstitutional. A vacation bench of Justices Ashok Bhushan and Deepak Gupta listed the matter for an early hearing on June 15.
