Salihundam and Sankaram are likely to be placed in the list of World Heritage sites

The Buddhist Heritage sites at Salihundam(Srikakulam) and Sankaram near Anakapalle in Visakhapatnam, in addition to Lepakshi (Anantapur) and the Nagarjunakonda International Museum(Guntur), are likely to find a place in the list of UNESCO World Heritage sites. The Archaeological Survey of India, New Delhi, has sought a proposal from its Hyderabad unit, for sending it to the UNESCO World Heritage Centre for tentative listing.
