According to reports, Russian air strikes have wiped out a large Islamic State convoy attempting to escape the Syrian city of Raqqa and roll towards Palmyra. Russian jets hit dozens of vehicles carrying heavy weaponry, say reports. The airstrikes were reportedly called in after the movements of three Islamic State convoys heading south towards Palmyra were spotted by reconnaissance units.
