Replying to an RTI query seeking to share the details on the demonetisation move, the RBI has declined to share the details, and has said that it would be detrimental to the country's economic interests. The central bank reportedly said disclosing such details may impede future economic or fiscal policies of the Centre. The RTI petition asked RBI to provide a copy of the minutes of the meetings held in its office to take the decision of banning the notes. It also asked to share a copy of the correspondence made with the PM's Office and the finance ministry on demonetisation issue.
