According to reports, Pakistan’s Interior Ministry has issued the country’s first passport with the transgender designation. By the new rule, transgenders in Pakistan have been allowed to identify themselves with "X" under the sex category in all the official documents. Notably, this move comes after Human Rights Watch announced that Pakistan saw a surge of violence against transgender woman in 2016.
