In a bid to demonstrate its military prowess North Korea on Sunday claimed that it is combat-ready to take down a US aircraft carrier. Rodong Sinmun, a newspaper owned by the country’s ruling Workers Party was quoted saying, "Our revolutionary forces are combat-ready to sink a US nuclear-powered aircraft carrier with a single strike.”Notably, the Trump administration had earlier ordered its aircraft carrier strike group to sail to waters off the Korean peninsula in response to rising tension over the North's nuclear and missile tests.
