A top officer of Madhya Pradesh police has reportedly confirmed that no FIR has been filed against the policemen responsible for the killing of five farmers due to firing during a protest in Mandsaur district. While the police have registered 46 FIRs pertaining to acts of arson and violence by protesters, not a single case has been lodged against the police. The police official argued that they had to fire in self-defence.
