New tech helps diabetic person complete one year without insulin

According to reports, US-based scientists have successfully completed a year without insulin injections for a 43-year-old diabetic woman. The scientist reportedly achieved this after the transplant of insulin-producing islet cells near stomach area. There were no surgical complications while the study is ongoing to determine the long-term feasibility of the treatment, doctors said. Notably, Insulin was discontinued 17 days after the transplant.
