NASA has reportedly launched an unmanned spacecraft named 'Parker Solar Probe' to the Sun on July 31, 2018. The mission is to study why Corona, Sun's outer atmosphere (17 lakh ºC) is hotter than the surface (5,500 ºC). The mission is part of NASA’s Living With a Star program to explore aspects of the sun-Earth system that directly affect life and society.
