A bus conductor accused in the 7-year-old Pradhyuman’s murder case in Ryan International School on September 8 was reportedly granted bail on Tuesday. Notably, the bus conductor was first arrested hours after the murder of the boy. Later, CBI investigations apprehended another student in the case who reportedly confessed to his crime.
A 22-year-old man reportedly killed a 9-year-old boy in Agra on Sunday night. The man was reportedly well known to the victim’s family. Reports say, while the man was trying to steal from the victim’s family he realised that the boy had noticed him stealing and in order to escape the scene, he panicked and slit the throat of the third grader. Police have reportedly registered a case under IPC section 302 (murder) on the accused.
The father of class two student Pradyuman Thakur who was murdered at Gurgaon’s Ryan International School reportedly said that Haryana cabinet minister Rao Narbir Singh told the family to not approach the CBI. According to TNIE reports, the father quoted the minister as saying “CBI is just a big name and nothing more. The agency already has lots of workload and it will not be able to probe the case even in a year or more.” However, the minister hasn’t responded to the matter as yet.
In a Facebook post, allegedly by Saraj Singh Mintoo a gangster and a murder accused in the killing of a Hindu outfit leader Vipan Sharma last month, he claimed responsibility for the murder. "I want to tell my friends that the murder of Vipan Sharma which took place on October 30 on Amritsar-Batala road was committed by me... His killing should not be linked with any religion," he reportedly said in the post. Reports say, police have taken notice of the Facebook post and are investigating the matter.
According to the Indian Express, Akash Talati, an NRI from India was killed in a late night shooting at an adult night club in North Carolina on Saturday. Talati, who owned the strip club was reportedly killed after an altercation between his security guards and a patron who was thrown out, turned ugly, reports claim.
Karnataka home minister Ramalinga Reddy said that those responsible for the murder of journalist-activist Gauri Lankesh will be nabbed within a few weeks. Lankesh was found murdered right outside of her home on September 5 when bike-borne assailants fired point blank at her. Following this, Special Investigation Teams were formed to nail the killers and pictures of suspected killers were also released sometime back.
The CBI said that it was not confident over Gurgaon police's theory that the school conductor Ashok Kumar killed the boy. It added that the Class 11 student who was apprehended in the murder of a Class 2 student was always on the list of suspects. The agency is also probing if anyone else was involved or assisted in the murder.
In a breakthrough in the case of Pradhyuman Thakur, a Class II student of Ryan International Student, Gurugram, who was murdered in September, the Central Bureau of Investigation arrested a Class XI student. Reportedly, the student committed the murder so that exams and parent-teacher meeting would be postponed. The minor has been remanded to judicial custody.
A 21-year-old engineering college student from Vellore allegedly killed a puppy by throwing it off from the roof. In a Facebook post, Animal Welfare Activist Shravan Krishnan shared the message he received from some other students who were taking care of the puppy. Reports say an FIR has been filed against the student at Katpadi Police Station on Wednesday. Notably, a similar incident took place last year when two medical students threw off a puppy from the terrace.
An unidentified woman's dead body was found lying in a semi-naked state at a park in Noida. Reportedly, the police said the woman's head was forcefully smashed against a pole after which she died on the spot. According to reports, police suspect that she was raped before being murdered.
Police have reportedly arrested a man named Nisha Rajan for murdering his wife for her jewels. The wife, 28-year-old Mohanapriya, was reportedly found dead with her throat slit on October 3 in their house in Avadi near Chennai, and 3 sovereigns of jewels on her neck were stolen. The 33-year-old man blamed his wife’s conduct and said someone might have killed her, say reports. However, during investigation, Nisha Rajan confessed to killing his wife in an inebriated state for jewels, reports added.
Punjab officials on Saturday reportedly said a senior journalist and his 92-year-old mother were murdered at their house in Mohali. They reportedly said 64-year-old K J Singh's throat had been slit, while his mother Gurcharan Kaur was suspected to have been strangled at their home. Police reportedly said they had injury marks on their necks. A Special Investigation Team has reportedly been formed. Singh, a former news editor with The Indian Express, had also worked for the The Tribune and The Times of India in Chandigarh, reports added.
Harika, a 25-year-old woman, has allegedly been murdered by her husband on Sunday in Nagole area in Hyderabad. The woman’s family alleged that the husband, Rushi, harassed her for not securing an MBBS seat, and demanded dowry. While Rushi said his wife committed suicide, the police suspect that he murdered the woman, say reports.
According to reports, Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim, who is currently lodged in a Rohtak jail, will face trial in two separate murder cases through video conferencing on Saturday. According to reports, unidentified assailants have fatally shot Gauri Lankesh, a senior journalist in Karnataka, at her home in Raja Rajeshwari Nagar on Tuesday evening. The murderers knocked her door and sent a bullet to her chest as soon as she opened the door. The assailants fled the scene, while Gauri, a critic of Hindutva politics, was killed on the spot, say reports. Notably, rationalist MM Kalburgi was also murdered in a similar way two years ago.
A 24-year-old man was arrested as he allegedly killed a 3-year-old boy by pushing him from staircase. Reportedly he killed the boy as he stood as an obstacle for his relationship with the boy’s mother. The daily wage worker moved in with the boy’s mother after she seperated from her husband.
According to police reports, a 27-year-old man in a drunken condition allegedly stabbed his mother to death and later ate her heart with chatni and pepper, at Kolhapur on Monday afternoon. The Shahupuri police arrested accused Sunil Kuchakurni, a resident of Mahawala Vasat in Tararani Chowk and registered a case of murder and the deceased has been identified as Yelava (65). “Sunil allegedly stabbed her to death, later, took out her heart and placed it on a plate. We found chatni and pepper spray at his house, which he had sprinkled on the heart. We suspect he ate a part of it”, Police said.
