The Union government on Wednesday reportedly said the Ministers and MPs who do not vacate public homes on time would be punished. The Union Cabinet, headed by PM Narendra Modi, passed amendments to Public Premises Act, 1971, to impose the penalties. As per the order, officials can also be prosecuted if they do not vacate these homes.
