Meghalaya moves resolution against cattle sale restrictions

The Meghalaya government on Monday reportedly passes a resolution against the controversial cattle trade rule and restricting the sale of cattle for slaughter. The state Assembly reportedly said, "The order will hamper the rights of the people" and "laws are already in place for cattle." Notably, two BJP leaders resigned from the party last week stating imposition of BJP’s non-secular ideology was unacceptable.
