Absconding liquor baron Vijay Mallya on Monday, failed to make a personal appearance before the Supreme Court, despite being directed to do so. The apex court had earlier held Mallya, who has currently absconded to the UK, with guilty of contempt of court over failure to furnish details of his Indian and offshore assets. Further, It had directed Mallya to appear to argue on the quantum of punishment.
