According to reports, the Islamic State militant group on Tuesday confirmed the death of its main leader and self-declared caliph Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi. This comes after Russia had earlier claimed to have killed Baghdadi in Syria's Raqqa in an airstrike in June. Notably, this is the first time the militant group has confirmed the death of its leader.
