Kolkata Metro Railway Corporation Ltd on Wednesday reportedly completed the construction of India’s first underwater tunnel. The tunnel was reportedly built under the Hooghly river for establishing a metro link in Kolkata. According to reports, the project was completed within the projected time using a giant tunnel-boring machine. Notably, the underwater tunnel runs 502 metres under the river.
