The rise in the price of vegetables like tomatoes, green chillies and tur dal has made a cascading effect on mid-day meal served in schools of Telangana. In most of the schools, the mid-day meal workers are now serving rasam instead of vegetable curry. Notably, the price of tomato has raised to Rs 80 per kg which was Rs 25 last month.
