After taking oath on Sunday, Nirmala Sitharaman took charge as the new Defence Minister on Thursday. The Ex Defence Minister Arun Jaitley was reportedly in Japan for a defense cooperation meet was unavailable to handover the charge on Sunday. After Manohar Parrikar was elected as Goa’s CM, Arun Jaitley was holding Defence Ministry as an additional charge.
