According to reports, the central government on Monday claimed that demonetisation and operation clean money resulted in a nearly 25% increase in filing of Income Tax Returns. Reportedly, this comes after the number of returns filed until August 5 stood at over 2.82 crore as against over 2.26 crore filed during the corresponding period of last fiscal. Further, advance tax collections of personal income tax showed a growth of 41.79%.
