The 16-year-old girl from Hyderabad who was married to a 77-year-old man in Oman has reportedly rejected to come back to India when police tried to ‘rescue’ her. The girl reportedly said that her parents were greedy and wanted more money from her ‘husband’ so they filed the complaint. The girl’s mother lodged a complaint last month, alleging that the girl’s father along with his sister ‘sold’ the girl to a man from Oman for Rs 5 lakhs. However, the police have denied backing in this case as the marriage is still illegal, as the girl is a minor.
