As many as 11,400 farmers committed suicide in 2016, Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Radha Mohan Singh on Wednesday reportedly said while responding to questions in the Lok Sabha. Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia had earlier slammed the Narendra Modi government for failing to ensure remunerative prices to farmers.
