Hindu Munnani functionary C Sasikumar’s murder has reportedly triggered communal riots in Coimbatore and Tirupur on Friday. Members of the outfit pelted stones, damaged shops and commercial establishments, and forced public transport off the roads. Following the tense situation, police were deployed in large numbers at the government hospital where Sasikumar’s body was sent for post-mortem.
