Ex-K’taka CM Kumaraswamy could now be arrested

A Bengaluru court on Tuesday denied anticipatory bail to former Karnataka CM HD Kumaraswamy of the Janata Dal (Secular) in a case related to corruption charges. Reportedly, this could lead to the arrest of the 57-year-old who was Chief Minister from 2006 to 2007. According to the Lokayukta or ombudsman of the state, Kumaraswamy, during his term, facilitated a major mining scam to help a privately-owned company named Janthakal Enterprises.
