Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami on day wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking intervention in the release of Tamil fishermen. Notably, five Tamil fishermen were arrested by the Sri Lankan Navy on Sunday. Mr Palaniswami also urged the Prime Minister to secure the release of 136 fishing boats remanded by the Sri Lankan Navy.
