The Tamil Nadu government on Saturday brought a new legislation to repeal the Tamil Nadu Entertainments Tax Act 1939 as the tax is included in goods and services tax. The Act enables the state government to levy and collect entertainment tax. The local bodies will get a share from the GST collection, once the GST comes into force on July 1.
