Most of Chennai's speed breakers are reportedly not up to the design specifications mandated by the Indian Road Congress. Most notably, many of the speed breakers in the city are also missing the essential 'cat's eye' feature. The recent death of car racer Ashwin Sundar on Sunday is also ‘partly’ influenced by a faulty speed breaker.
