High court directs university in favour of transgender name change

Madras High Court on Thursday issued orders to Anna University and Madras University asking the controller of examinations to change the name in the certificates of a student who underwent a sex change surgery. Reportedly, the medical records proved that the person is a fully fledged male after required  investigations physically and psychologically. The person changed his name and gender in the government gazette, PAN, Passport, and Aadhaar but could not change it in his educational certificate until the court gave orders.
