Sandeep and Reena Mander, a Sikh couple in the UK, have alleged that they were refused permission to adopt a white child. The British-born business professionals from Berkshire were told to adopt a child from India instead, because of their “cultural heritage”. While the couple were open to adopt a child of any ethnic background, they were rejected since only white children were available.
