Banks, post offices can deposit banned notes for a month with RBI

According to a report by NDTV, the Centre has allowed district cooperative banks and post offices to exchange old banknotes which are no longer in circulation. A Finance Ministry statement reportedly said the banks and post offices can deposit the notes with Reserve Bank of India in a month, provided these notes were collected by December 30, 2016.
