Former Australian captain Ricky Ponting has reportedly said that the 2017–18 Ashes tournament would be the biggest challenge for the team skipper Steve Smith. According to reports, Ponting also praised Smith for doing a terrific job as the Australian team captain. Notably, Australia has witnessed 12 wins, seven loss and five draws in 24 Tests under Smith’s captaincy.
