Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Monday reportedly said that the states which are waiving loans for farmers 'must generate the funds from their own resources'. Notably, his comment comes a day after the Maharashtra government announced loan waiver for its farmers. The State of Maharashtra is estimated to waive off 1.14 lakh worth of loans taken by the farmers in the state.
