Why no action against OPS faction MLAs who voted against govt: Tamilselvan

Following the disqualification of 18 AIADMK MLAs who support TTV Dhinakaran, one of the MLAs Thanga Tamilselvan has reportedly asked why no action was taken against the legislators of O Panneerselvam faction who voted against the government during floor test. Calling the disqualification a murder of democracy, he said the disqualified MLAs will move to court seeking justice, say reports.

Give Navodaya school funds to State govt: Thambidurai

Lok Sabha Deputy Speaker M Thambidurai has reportedly said that the education portfolio should be moved to State list from the Concurrent list. Police forces deployed at Coorg resort where Dhinakaran MLAs are staying

According to reports, Tamil Nadu police has deployed police personnel at the resort in Karnataka’s Coorg where AIADMK MLAs supporting TTV Dhinakaran are lodged at. This comes at a time when Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami-led AIADMK (Amma) faction on Tuesday annulled the appointment of V K Sasikala as the general secretary of the party, and also reportedly said that announcements and appointment by TTV Dhinakaran are invalid. Meanwhile, DMK working president and opposition leader M K Stalin on Tuesday reportedly said a case has been filed in the Madras High Court to direct Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao to order CM Palaniswami to prove his majority in the State Legislative Assembly.

AIADMK General Secretary’s powers transferred to O Panneerselvam

In the AIADMK (Amma) general council meeting led by Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami, it is decided that all powers borne by the general secretary of the party will now transfer to Chief Coordinator of the party. Petition filed challenging OPS’s appointment as deputy CM

According to reports, a Chennai-based advocate named V Elangovan has reportedly filed a petition in the Madras High Court challenging the appointment of O Panneerselvam as the Deputy Chief Minister. The advocate, in his affidavit, stated that the appointment was bad in law, and said, “There is no provision under the Constitution for the appointment of a Deputy Chief Minister”, added reports.

It's improper to remove TTV from AIADMK: Karunas

‘Two leaves’ battle moves to Delhi; TTV plays spoilsport

After the representatives of the CM sort an appointment with the chief election commissioner, TTV’s faction has reportedly issued a written statement to the Election Commission saying that no decision can be taken regarding the ‘two leaves’ symbol or AIADMK without their consultation. Saidai Duraisamy questions Dhinakaran on his sacking

Although TN Chief Minister on Monday announced the resolution that TTV Dhinakaran has been removed from the post of deputy general secretary of AIADMK and does not have the right to fire anyone, on Tuesday, Dhinakaran reportedly stated that he removed many senior ministers from their posts including organising secretary Saidai Duraisamy. According to media reports, Saidai Duraisamy alleged that he was not part of the AIADMK party from 15th December 2016, and has no connection with the political issues that are currently happening.
