8000 metric tonnes onion rot in open air in Bhopal

In Bhopal’s Karond Mandi, at least 8,000 metric tonnes of onion has rotten due to the alleged mismanagement and carelessness of the administration, say reports. Reports suggest that storing large quantities of the vegetable being in the open air in monsoon season could be a probable cause. While the state administration has assured to find a solution to the problem, many parts are witnessing frequent drizzles and rains.
