Ajmal, the handsome doctor who changed tracks from healing people to entertaining people made Tamil audience detest him with full throttle with his neatly crafted antagonistic performance in Anjathey. After tha naa AL 433, he will be seen in Thiru Thiru Thuru Thuru (T4) a rom-com which will hit the screens soon.

BW: About Thiru Thiru Thuru Thuru

Ajmal: Thiru Thiru Thuru Thuru will be released now and this is my first attempt at romantic comedy. Earlier you have seen me in serious roles but in Thiru Thiru Thuru Thuru, you will find a different Ajmal. The role of Arjun in the film is very close to my heart and it is almost me. I have not acted in the film but just behaved myself. That’s all. Mani Sharma has composed five beautiful numbers. Three situational and two romantic songs are the highlights of the film. Art director Kiran has done a remarkable job. You will see beautiful visuals and frames under Sudhir’s camera. In addition to these features, Real image and Sathyam cinemas have come together for the first time to make this film. I am fortunate to feature in such a venture. I am sure Thiru Thiru Thuru Thuru will be enjoyed by everyone.

Why did you choose Thiru Thiru Thuru Thuru?

After Anjathey many people have told me that I should do powerful villainous roles as it sits perfectly on me. But I thought differently and wanted to explore different segments of my acting potential. That is when Nandini mam narrated the script of Thiru Thiru Thuru Thuru. I liked it immediately as every frame was so lively and funny. Secondly this was a good opportunity for me to showcase my talent in romance and comedy. I think I have done a good job.

Tell us something about your entry into filmdom

I have always liked Tamil films from my childhood days. However my first film was Pranaya Kalam in Malayalam. Mysskin sir’s co-director Rajan Mathur saw this film and called me for Anjathey audition. I did a scene from this film which was liked by Mysskin sir and that’s how I landed in Anjathey. I got many awards for Anjathey- film fare award, best newcomer award and best supporting actor award etc. These awards are highly motivational and inspire me to scale greater heights.

" Awards are

highly motivational

and inspire me to scale

greater heights "

Who is your inspiration in film industry?

" Kamal is my role model "

In Tamil, it is Kamal Hassan sir who has motivated me so much. He is always trying something new and different in every film of his. Kamal is my role model.

How was it working under a lady director?

I don’t see any gender difference. For me they are just directors. That’s all. Once I have agreed to a script, I will surrender myself completely to the director. I am very flexible and want my director to mould me.

" I will surrender myself

completely to the director "

Do you have any dream roles?

I have just done three films. I can answer this question perhaps after I complete my 50th film. As of now, I want to do varied roles and hone my acting skills.

" Mani sir had called me

for a new film

but I could not go "

Directors that you would like to work...

I would like to work with Mani Rathnam sir, Shankar sir, Gautham Menon sir. I am sure I would work with them soon. In fact Mani sir had called me for a new film but I could not go as there was clash of dates with my other film Kadirvel. I feel very sad about it. But I hope and pray that I would work with him in future.
