Ramesh Aravind talks about directing the Tamil and Kannada remake of Queen

Queen, the Hindi film is being remade in Tamil and Kannada. Ramesh Aravind would be directing the two versions. Kajal Aggarwal and Amy Jackson are reportedly in talks to reprise Kangana Ranaut and Lisa Haydon's roles respectively in the Tamil version. We speak to the Uttama Villain director to get more updates.

“Nice to be back in Tamil as a director after Uttama Villain and that too for Queen remake. Queen is a fabulous story to tell. I like to celebrate equality of the sexes which the film does and which I believe in personally. This is an opportunity to work with an international crew to direct a film in two languages and to step up a lot of respect.

Liger from Dubai and London based Manu Kumar for his Mediente International are bankrolling the venture.

In Kannada, the cast selection is over and we have started shooting from today (7th June). I have titled the Kannada version as Butterfly because it is the story of a metamorphosis of a girl, something on the lines of a caterpillar getting out of a cocoon to emerge into a beautiful butterfly.

As regards Tamil, we are finalizing the cast right now. We will be shooting in places around Karur and Tiruppur, which have textile background. Then we will take ‘Queen’ to Paris, London and Amsterdam. The Tamil title and cast details I will give you in a week’s time. We will begin shooting for Tamil soon and I intend to finish the shoot of both versions by this year end. Suhasini will be writing the dialogues for the Tamil version".

We wish you the best Ramesh Aravind!
