Usually K.V Anand sticks to what Vidya Balan reprised in Dirty Picture i.e. Entertainment, Entertainment and Entertainment but this time he concentrated more on the message which he wants to communicate strongly.

The Story is all about an Evil Scientist who loves his invention more than his family and how the family reacts when they come to know about his true colors. KV Anand coated the screenplay with commercial elements like his earlier flicks but the surprising factors are surprisingly missing and in the second half he dragged it sorely.

Surya as Akilan and Vimalan has done his role elegantly and the last 20 minutes in the first half completely belongs to him. The love, affection, friendship and the fight between the conjoined twins was perfectly canned by the director and the actor supports him in a mammoth size. Kajal Agarwal has a pleasant role and she has done it fairly but the long Russian translation throughout the second half is uninteresting. Tara, Suriya’s mother has done a good job but the poor choice on the antagonist let down the powerful script. The director has shown some raw surgery scenes, which is not required that much.

As usual Harris’s poor tunes are converted in to a visual delight, thanks to the breathtaking DOP. Some of the scene lacks its power due to the poor BGM. Stunt sequences are done very well. The secret on Suriya’s birth surely stuns you in the climax. The movie travels perfectly with the emotional and funny quotients in the first half but when it comes to the investigation part, the second half is lengthy and not interesting.

Overall this is a good attempt by the director and actor. If you watch this without any expectation it will make you feel good in many portions. This may not be KV Anand’s best but definitely not avoidable completely.
