Mynaa team is back with a bashing wild love story - Kumki. The audio was declared to be a smash musical hit on the first few weeks of its release. Having gained over such a great reach prior to the movie release, this movie could easily be a box office hit even if it fairly engages the audience. Does it stop with being a fairly engaging one?

Before drilling down for the review, kudos to the entire Kumki team for a great work. Director should be much appreciated for taking this subject, choosing the untouched story plot which gives audience a totally fresh experience. Almost every scene is taken out door and looks greenish and cool. Scene by scene, frame by frame, Sukumar - the cinematographer takes you for a ride over the jungle that a cinema fan cannot afford to miss. For sure, the audience will be stunned on few scenes the way the camera is handled. Excellent work !!!

The director again scores on casting. Vikram Prabhu is sure to go great heights, excellent performance on his debut. Lakshmi Menon is a perfect choice for the role, even the mark in her face adds to her role. The lead pair being budding actors have done a commendable job. The story is simple and travels straight but the director has wisely made it interesting by having Thambi Ramaiah entertaining the audience almost the whole movie. His face expressions and dialogue delivery is simply superb that makes you laugh even when you walk out for a snack at interval. He has also done the supporting role to perfect. The characterization of the heroine's father plays a crucial role in the story; the actor has done it well. Manickam  - the role played by elephant is impressive and will be liked by people of all ages.

Background scoring of the movie plays a vital role, especially the BGM. It only shows the music director didn’t get a right break for these many years. The background scoring at few scenes reminds us of Ilayaraja's re-recording. The music perfectly creates the wild climate. All the songs are enjoyable, admirable for its visualization. On the downside, the climax would give us a feel of dissatisfaction or incompleteness. But definitely this is the perfect climax for the story , justifying the way the characters are being portrayed however the filming of climax could have been made better. It is a negligible one when compared to the enormous efforts taken by the whole unit in canning such a beautiful and impressive movie.

Go for Kumki for its story plot, visual treat, music, actor’s performance, a family entertainer  and above all for the  extra-ordinary effort in canning the movie which should be acknowledged by all cinema fans strictly at theatres only.
