After the failure of "Jai", Prasanth and his father Thyagarajan are trying harder for a hit with "Shock". For the uninitiated, "Shock" is the remake of Ram Gopal Varma's Hindi film "Bhoot", one of the most successful films made last year. The film starred Victor Banerjee, Nana Patekar, Rekha and Tanuja in small roles but these actors left a strong impact. With news of "Shock" being made in Tamil, several such films on the supernatural phenomenon are being announced in Tamil, claims Prasanth. |

In August last year, Thyagarajan bought the rights of "Bhoot" from Varma. Naturally, Prasanth is the hero of the Tamil version. The father-son duo chose Meena to act as Prasanth's wife in the main role!. As in the original, the story of the film starts with Vasanth (Prasanth) and his wife Malini (Meena) coming to stay in a flat on the 12th floor of an apartment. A ghost starts haunting Malini. Thyagarajan has written the dialogues and screenplay for the film. He is also the art director, producer and director of the film. |

He does the role of a police officer, which was enacted by Patekar in the original.
The rest of the star cast is also quite impressive, featuring Suhasini, K.R. Vijaya, Sarat Babu and Abbas.
Suhasini is the medium through which conversation is initiated with the ghost, the role having been done by Rekha in the original. Abbas does the role of Fardeen Khan, the villain.
Like the original, "Shock" will have no songs or fights. Prasanth is sure of one thing: "Shock" will shock the Tamil audience
