Soumya or known as Soundarya in the Film Land was a great and profound actress in the South Films. She was the daughter of an establish producer and director of Kannada film industry Mr. Satyanarayana. She was introduced to film land by her fathers’ friend in the movie “Gandharva” (1992).Since her entry to film land, she decided to discontinue her studies and decided to swift her attention to the film land. .

She entered Tamil film in the film “Ponnumani” opposite Karthik. Since then she was recognized by the Tamil viewers. Although she had acted in quite a number of Tamil films, she grew up as a star by the Kannada and Telegu films. In her film “Dweepa”, she had won the National Award for Best Actress because of her outstanding acting in that movie.

She was paired with most of the leading actors in Film Land like RajiniKanth, VijayKanth, Arjun, Karthik, Parthiban, Kamal Hassan, Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, Suresh, Venkatesh, Jagapathy Babu and Amitabh Bachan.

In the year 2003, she decided to tie the marital knot to a software professional. The marriage was a private function held in the outskirts of Bangalore where only family members and close family friends were invited.
But this happiness does not last forever when she decided to enter the politics. Nearly one year after her marriage, she was involved in a plane crash. Her body was charred beyond recognition. Her death was a great loss to the film land and her death shocks the whole film land in India.
