we can see most of his films are great blockbusters.
With his tremendous and soft-spoken voice
he had attracted the fans of Tamil film. His
films are lighter in dialogues compared to
any other actors. His films like “Kalyana
Parasu”, “Then Nilavu”,
“Adi Perukku”, “Kalathor
Kannama”, “Vanjikotthai Valibam”,
“Summai Thangi” had been a memorable
movies until today. He attracted his fans
with his sentimental and romantic acting that
can’t be done by any other actor those
days. Even in film circles he was known to
his colleagues as “Sambhar” for
his portrayal of soft roles and not doing
action roles and speaking dialogues in a soft
voice. This made him the one and only King
of Romance or better known by the industry
as “Kathal Manan”.
In his movies the songs are very much beautiful
to be heard, even until today his songs in
movies he acted can be still heard in television
and radio stations. And the youngsters today
too are humming his songs.
The “Kathal Manan” Gemini Ganesan
had acted with most of the leading actresses
those days like Saroja Devi, Anjala Devi,
Devika, Padmini, VijayKumari, KR Vijaya, Vanishree,
Vaijanthi Mala, Bharathi and Savithri. His
acting with most of the actresses are superb
and fantastic. It is said that he had a great
on screen chemistry with most of the actresses
he acted and even most of the actresses do
say they find Gemini Ganesan a very sentimental
person.
Despite his controversial love affair, the
name “Kathal Manan” or “The
King of Romantic” will always belong
to Gemini Ganesan. He was and will own the
title forever in Indian Film Industry. With
his beautifully soft-spoken dialogues, tremendous
romantic movements, made me proud to say that
I will be his ardent fan forever.
