Srikanth speaks of his success and failures in his film career in this exclusive interview...

Why are your films not doing well these days?

If you say, that I alone am responsible for the failure of a film, I will not accept it at all. There are various reasons behind a film's success and failure. The taste of the people differ from film to film. Whether my film is a hit or a flop, I am happy that I am doing my role well in every film. Moreover your statement entirely seems wrong. I wouldn't say that my film "Bose" is a flop.

Please tell us about your first experience in the shooting?

In my first ever shooting for the film "Roja Kooram", a make up test was done before I stood in front of the camera. Susi Sir liked my appearance. He is my true guru and taught me the various aspects of acting. I  did  not feel any  fear  when the first shot was

taken, like most of the actor actress'. The reason behind was, the whole Oscar Films unit moved well along with me so that I didn't feel different from them, for being a fresher. This was the first motivation for creating a self-confidence in me. I am very much thankful to each and every member of "Roja Kootam" unit. I am a lucky guy for giving a hit in my very first movie.

Then why was there a big gap between your first film and your second film?

I could not complete my first film "Roja Kootam" within the scheduled period, and before completing the film I was booked for my second film "April Madhathil". The director of "April Madathil" wanted me to complete my first film within a specified time. I was not able to make it. So there was a gap between my first and the second film.

Did your family welcome your acting career?

My father has been an actor for various stage plays. He could tell whether a film will be success or not by watching it for the first time, and most of his predictions will always be right. I used to watch lot's of films myself,in my college days, which slowly paved way for my acting career. So no one in my house prevented me from acting in films.

Could you tell us about your marriage?

There is still a lot of time for my marriage. I am aware of the gossip about me with Sneha. We starred together in three films and are good friends till now. There is no other relationship between me and her apart from this.

Do you want to continue in the films or do you want to change your profession like Aravind Saamy, for example?

My future as an actor or any other lies in the hands of God. If He thinks that I must act, I will act. If He feels that I should not, then I will not. I personally feel that the film chances coming to me is because of God's grace. That is how I take all the happenings in my life. The competition in the film industy nowadays is a healthy one and I welcome such competitions. These competitions will help develop new artists and new trends in the film industry.

The producers complain that you demand more for acting in their films? How true is that?

This news is not true at all. I accept whatever the producers give me, till now I have not demanded anyone for a particular amount. My producers know very well about it. They also know how much I should be paid for my work. Never in my career I will demand much from anyone.
