JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM CAST & CREW
Production: Amblin Entertainment, The Kennedy Marshall Company, Universal Pictures Cast: Bryce Dallas Howard, Chris Pratt, Justice Smith, Rafe Spall Direction: J. A. Bayona Music: Michael Giacchino Cinematography: Óscar Faura Editing: Bernat Vilaplana Distribution: Universal Pictures

When Owen and Claire find about the once dormant volcano on the Isla Nublar island is active, they return to save the remaining dinosaurs from getting extinct. In the process of protecting Owen’s lead raptor Blue, they end up discovering a conspiracy that would put the entire planet in danger.

Though the story isn’t that great and even the movie might not connect with you emotionally, there are enough fun moments that will keep you entertained. We are talking about a 25-year long franchise, even though the scripts get weaker by each passing instalments, the CGI work alone gets bigger and better.

The film keeps you engaged from the very go. Not to mention about the heavy hangover from the previous episodes yet the film manages to terrorise the audience at places with some well-timed scary scenes, which were missing in the previous dinosaur movies.

The less you try to analyse this movie, the more you will like it. The raptors and rexes are back in action to entertain the kids who will surely love this movie as it has every element needed to please them. The film, however, is not evenly paced, and one feels a few scenes could have been chopped off.

The last 25 minutes in particular is compelling. On the whole, the film has on old-fashioned treatment with a lot of build ups, screams and runs and not much of thought. Both the leads Chris Pratt and Bryce are apt and have done their part well. Isabella Sermon, the cute kid who plays Lockwood’s granddaughter is quite impressive. None of the other characters make any impact. Jeff Goldblum’s character as Ian Malcolm is a big let-down, he is wasted. The climax looks superficial and forced just to make way for a sequel.

Verdict: Rich in production value but not so high on content
