Are you a method actor?

I did my homework well. For the psycho character in 7G, I prepared mentally for about 3 months thro’ observation so much that my family was quite aghast. The climax was shot to last one hour but only 20 minutes of it appeared on the screen. Anyhow it was etched well in the audience’s mind and they found it difficult to get over. This made all the effort worthwhile.


What has been the reaction of your friends after your success?

Well I am still the jolly good fellow that I was before the movie. I am still just as approachable and I hang out with my three close friends.


Tell us your experience about working in 7G?

It was fantastic. I worked diligently for every scene. Especially the one in which Sonia Agarwal would try to reform me after I get drunk. In many movies, guys would reform on hearing from the lady. In this movie, this is not so. That I think is the highlight of the film.


Would you work under your brother’s direction?

My next film called Vegam is being directed by my brother. He had immense faith in my talent. He always encourages me to do better.


Would you like to do purely action-oriented roles?

As far as Tamil cinema is concerned, we have a mixture of action, love, sentiment and comedy. So, there is no compartmentalization. I am open to doing any kind of role as long as it is challenging.
