The young music director of Kadhal is stuck in a controversy of elopement and blackmail. He was wanted by the Bangalore police following a complaint from the mother of Natasha, a keyboard artist in his orchestra. Following the news, Joshua and Natasha met the press along with their advocates. Find out more….

Tell us more about yourself, Joshua?

My family has been associated with the film industry since the days of my grandfather, K.K. Chandran. After his demise there was a hiatus. I was interested in music since my childhood. I graduated  from  the  Madras  Music College.  My ambition has

been to become a leading music director. I have worked with Mani Sharma, Ilayaraja, Rahman, Yuvan and Karthik besides with Keeravani in Telugu. After the success of Boys, Shankar gave me the opportunity to score for Kadhal. I have just started my journey and am facing a great obstacle not due to any fault of mine.

Natasha, how did you come to know Joshua?

I have known him for the past seven months. We were introduced through a common friend. My father William Pinto works in Dubai in an insurance firm. My mother Elfride is a housewife. All the confusion is mainly due to my overambitious mother and her unrelenting egoism. She suspected our association which has been purely professional for the movie Kadhal. We met often during its making. She planned to get me married off against my wishes. That is why I walked out of the house. Annoyed by this she has filed a complaint with the police.

Joshua, your marriage has been on the rocks. Your comments.

I am married and have two daughters, Sneha and Chrysilla. My wife and I met as students in college and were bound by a common love for music. But we never agreed on anything else. So we decided to separate which was the most painful event in my life. I miss my children a lot.

Joshua, it is said that you converted to marry Natasha?

What a lie! I am a true Christian and we are just friends. There are several knotty issues in Natasha’s family and I feel that I should stand by her as a true friend. I am sure she will overcome all of the difficulties and work with my projects in the pipeline. We have a strong professional relationship. Believe in us.
