Behindwoods
February 5, 2005
Come February and love is in the air.
Today’s teenyboppers rack their
brains to come up with new ways of impressing
their heartthrobs on the D-day. Yes we
are talking of February 14 th –
Valentine’s day. Apart from flowers,
chocolates, pendants, teddybears and mushy
messages get ready for the movie, February
14. This movie stars Bharat and Renuka
Menon. It captures the emotional upheavals
in the youngster stepping into college.
The youth have a certain attraction towards
the opposite sex which is quite natural.
Where the crush turns into love and the
struggles of the persons in question,
form the core of the story. The treatment
is unique because it is meshed warmth
and humour. The characterization of the
hero is that of a happy-go-lucky fellow
with the pranks. Bharat was a natural
choice and after Murugan of Kadhal it
is a total makeover. Renuka Menon is a
newcomer and her performance as the vulnerable
girl has been superb. The film is directed
by Ho Chi Min, a protégé
of Shankar, produced by Chandrasekar (Sullan),
music by Bharadwaj and canned by cinematographer
Rathnavel.
