Is there life after death? Or is it same as how one’s life is talked about after his death? “Ayulregai seeks an answer to these questions,” says K.V. Ashok the director. He trained under Kamal Hassan. He continues, “Every man is a bundle of contradictions. If one were to accept the positive and ignore the negative aspects in others’ personalities and love them just the same there would be no conflict in this world”.

The story revolves around the anti-hero played by Thennavan. Orphaned as a child and deserted by his mother, he longs for care and love. When cruelty is unleashed on his young persona he turns to crime. A young girl in his life brings a breath of fresh air. But her rejection angers him and he kills her. The trail continues as he becomes a hard-boiled criminal. Another woman and her relationship

change him forever. How does his life end? That’s the climax. Watch it on screen.

Apart from the hero all others are newcomers. The film has an awesome screenplay which I learnt from Kamal sir. His influence can be felt. Music is by Abbas Rafi and all the four songs he has scored will be chartbusters.

The movie has a strong message but it has been conveyed in a novel visual grammar instead boring dialogues.
