Super Star Rajini Kanth starrer Chandramukhi is Rajini’s 150th film. It is also Shivaji film’s 50th year film and their second film with Rajini, the first film being Mannan. Junior Shivaji and Success hero Dhushyanth works as the production executive for Chandramukhi. What really feels a little strange with Chandramukhi is that, lyricist Vairamuthu, who usually writes the opening song for Rajini’s movie is replaced by Lyricist Vaali in the film. The opening song for the film starts with the lines 'Thevuda Thevuda'.
