In their salad days Vijay and Surya did a couple of movies together like Nerukku ner and Friends. Friends was a moderate success and its songs are still hummed by the youth. It was produced by Appachan’s Swargachitra. Appachan is a noted Malayalam producer. He did not produce any Tamil film after Friends. He is now back with the proposal for a Tamil film. The buzz is that Vijay could be the hero and the director could be S.J. Surya. The Vijay-Surya combine is pairing up after Kushi which was a roaring hit. However, Sachin which was released recently is a rehash of Kushi. Hence, Vijay fans are praying that the duo come up with something original.
